A PEEK AT ME
A PEEK at MY WORK
A true Chicagoan, Eric is a self-taught artist who is passionate about capturing the vibrancy of life. Eric produces an intense original form of photography, founded in an organic process that takes place in his heart and mind. He discovered his artistic outlet with the help of his adventurous spirit, his international experiences, close peers, and experimentation. Upon his arrival at Duquesne University, with Pittsburgh as his new canvas, he began to experiment with editing using a variety of digital programs. His friends and mentors encouraged him to keep riding these waves of creativity to produce new work, and he subsequently derived inspiration from them. Having always been fascinated by the culture and diversity of the world, Eric followed his love of foreign languages with a camera in hand to far away lands in continents as close as Central and South America, to as far as Eastern Asia. Other countries gave him an opportunity to experiment with a wide range of landscapes, cities, foods, and people as his subjects. As he advanced his understanding of composition and digital editing through practice and experimentation, he produced the first pieces that he truly considered art, and realized himself as an artist thus forming Formatografia (Formato his last name + Fotografia (Italian for photography) = Formatografia). Since then, Eric has returned to Chicago and expanded his scope of work using a variety of techniques to produce images across a broad range of categories of photography. He has been featured for his work in artistic and commercial publications, artistic journals, the RAW Artist network, galleries, restaurants, salons, community centers, and a variety of art/street festivals. He has now also worked as an art consultant for transforming office spaces in the downtown area of Chicago from into vibrant working places, among other photo services. His work is as dynamic as he is as a person, and he is continuously finding a new and exciting way to print and showcase his work. Eric believes that photography should be sensory experience by engaging your senses and imagination.
He challenges you to See Your World In A New Way.
