I stumbled upon this "sand crop circle" while exploring the vast Montrose expanse. Montrose beach has to be one of my favorite beaches due to the fact that you have a beach, a park, an elevated hill that gives you amazing views of the city, soccer fields, a harbor, bike trails, all within walking distance of each other! I have to admit... I was not the creator of this gargantuan and enigmatic sand art. I'm still not quite sure how they did it so seamlessly. I caught this one with my wide lens that allowed the whole system of interconnected mazes into the frame, with the northern Chicago skyline just beyond them.
